Praia d'El Rey & the Silver Coast
The Silver Coast North of Lisbon might not be known as well as the Algarve, but is at least as attractive with its pine and eucalyptos forests, its kilometers of empty sandy beaches, lively fishing villages and the medieval towns... The Golf Course in Praia d'el Rey is one of Europe's most renowned courses and is set in extensive grounds of undulating dunes with spectacular views onto the Atlantic. But even for those not interested in golfing
the area has a huge amount of other activities on offer! Read more about them on the next page!
The 200-hectar Golf & Beach Resort of Praia d'El Rey provides
an idyllic lifestyle for permanent residents, holiday-makers and
visitors since 1997. Beside various sporting activities it also offers a childrens' games room and playground. Also within Praia D'El Rey is a brand new
5 star Marriott hotel with shops, restaurants, bar, health club with
gym, spa, indoor and outdoor pools and a business centre.

Towns and Villages
The medieval town of Obidos is one of Portugal's picturesque gems! Narrow cobbled streets, lined typically with whitewashed, houses, wind up to the walled interior. The name Óbidos stems from the Latin for citadel. Nearby is the large lagoon Lagoa de Óbidos where you can swim, sunbathe, hire canoes, kayaks or even windsurfing equipment. Not much further away to the other side of Praia d'El Rey lie the beaches around Peniche and Baleal famous fortheir various surfing waves. Peniche is very
much an old-style fishing town with many seafood restaurants lined up along the harbour promenade. The rock formations along the coast are Peniche's landmarks. You'll also find large
supermarkets, shops, fruit, vegetable and fish markets there. Serra del Rey is 5 mins. from Praia d'El Rey and has a small supermarket, chemist, bakery, restaurant etc. Caldas De Raina is the largest town in the area and 30 mins away. It has lots of shops and supermarkets and is the best town for shopping.
