Golfing
Praia d'El Rey Championship Golf Course is certainly one of the most picturesque layouts in Europe, set in extensive grounds of pine forest and undulating dunes with spectacular views over the Atlantic and the Berlenga Islands beyond. The course is visually stunning and tremendously exciting to play. Because of the endless variations of the terrain you'll never play it the same way twice.
Respected American golf architect, Cabell B. Robinson has designed the course to be the complete golfing challenge with bold deep bunkers, undulating greens, and natural sand border areas contrasting sharply with the lush green fairways. The ladies' tees are also far enough forward to make sure that length isn't a problem.

Surfing and other watersports
This is one of best areas in Europe for surfing! Supertubos beach and Lagide Beach are obligatory stopovers for Surfers! A number of surf schools and surf shops in Baleal (15 mins) cater for all your needs. Sailing and windsurfing are especially good in the Lagoon, where you'll find sailing schools and possibilities to hire wind surfing gear, as well as kayaks and canoes. Kite surfers find ideal conditions where the lagoon meets the ocean.
Swimming and bathing is not recommended on the beaches immediately adjacent to the Resort due to strong currents - but the neighbouring beaches offer safe swimming for everybody. Guards are on duty in the peak season.
